21st of October, Tegucigalpa
This facility, located in downtown Tegucigalpa, has 30 to 60 boys ages 12-18 years old. They are orphaned, abandoned, or are street boys who have been picked up and placed in this facility for crimes such as street wandering, glue sniffing, shop lifting, or stealing. There are two ORPHAN HELPERS staff members at this center offering evangelistic and discipleship programs.
Casitas Kennedy, Tegucigalpa
Also known as "Tiny Houses" for its numerous cabins housing all ages, from newborns and toddlers to young teenage boys and girls. Its name was given in the early 1960's from a Peace Corp initiative under the Kennedy administration. Most of the teenage girls have been sexually molested and many are either pregnant or have their babies with them. These girls are encouraged to train for a life skill in the beautician or sewing training centers. ORPHAN HELPERS employs three staff members at the "Tiny Houses." Many mission teams visit this center and assist our staff and the government workers by offering evangelism and encouragement.
Jalteva, Tegucigalpa
This rural center is home to about 80 boys ages 12-18 years. These boys are serving sentences for stealing, drug use, and murder. ORPHAN HELPERS is hoping to establish a self-sustaining center within this complex that incorporates farming and vocational training. Currently, one ORPHAN HELPER devotes his time by offering discipleship study and coaching sports programs. We need more ORPHAN HELPERS at this center.
Rebirth Center & Sacred Heart, Tegucigalpa
Rebirth (Renaciendo) is home to street boys, gang members, abandoned and abused boys ages 12-18. The number of boys at this center is around 120 and they are serving time for crimes such as stealing, rape, murder, drugs, and arms trafficking. ORPHAN HELPERS has strong presence here with five male teachers (computer training & sports programs) delivering evangelistic and discipleship programs. Sacred Heart (Corazon Sagrado), just on the other side of the wall, has about 40 girls from 13-18 years. Some of these girls have committed serious crimes, but they are little girls who have just never known the kind love God intended. ORPHAN HELPERS has added two ladies to our staff to work in this center.
El Carmen & ABC, San Pedro Sula
El Carmen houses about 60-100 boys ages 13-18 years old in decrepit conditions (no plumbing or running water). They are serving sentences here for crimes including stealing, rape, murder, drugs or arms trafficking. ABC is home to more than120 boys ages 8-14 years old. These boys are considered "social risk" by the government; they are from la calle (the streets). These little boys were abandoned by families an often times find themselves addicted to crack, glue or inhalants. ABC is a great place for mission teams to spend time with children who really need a friend. ORPHAN HELPERS needs additional staff at these facilities. Mission teams visit these center offering encouragement, evangelism, Bible study, sports and music programs.
Nueva Esperanza, San Pedro Sula

At any time there could be 80-150 babies and children who have been abandoned, sexually and/or physically abused, living in extreme poverty, street wandering, neglected or malnourished. This is the first point of placement by judges, police, and social workers for children in harm's way. ORPHAN HELPERS has three female staff members teaching elementary school classes, supervising sports activities, and assisting with child care throughout the day. ORPHAN HELPERS sends missionaries who teach, play and love these children for periods of one week to six months.
