El Carmen, a detention center, houses about 60-100 boys, 13-18 years old. They are serving sentences here for crimes including stealing, rape, murder, drugs or arms trafficking. Orphan Helpers has two staff members who work in computer training and discipleship with the boys. Many mission teams visit these centers and offer encouragement, evangelism, Bible study, and sports and music programs.
